A SMALL BAKERY THAT IS BIG ON FLAVOUR
NIZI Bakery is pretty small in size, but definitely big on flavour. Flavour is what matters most to us. All of our recipes have been carefully and lovingly developed so they taste delicious. Our sourdough breads are made over three days to bring out all the best flavour and goodness. We use the best ingredients we can find to ensure the best quality possible.
At NIZI Bakery we bake a range of different sourdoughs and long fermentation breads, as well as sweet and savoury pastries. Everything is made and baked on site so it is as fresh as possible for you to enjoy.
Our breads include our signature NIZI Sourdough, traditional French style baguettes and authentic Italian ciabatta. We make classic croissants, pain au chocolat and sticky cinnamon swirls, as well as Tuscan-style sausage rolls using our handmade puff pastry, pizza-style focaccia and other savoury treats.
SUSTAINABILITY IS AT THE HEART OF EVERYTHING WE DO
What does it mean to be a sustainable bakery? For us, it’s about finding sustainability in all aspects of what we do, both in terms of our impact on the environment in general as well as the local area. We strive to source ingredients locally, but also take into consideration how the ingredients are produced or grown and, of course, the flavour they can offer.
We aim to be as eco-friendly as possible in all aspects of the bakery, from using only recyclable or compostable packaging (no plastic) to offering home deliveries of our bread and pastries by bike in Hereford (thanks to Pedicargo). We aim to limit our food waste as much as possible, so you might find that some things have sold out when you pop in, but this also means everything you do find is fresh and nothing will be thrown away at the end of the day.
MORE THAN JUST A BAKERY
Since opening in March 2019, NIZI Bakery has become what it is today thanks to the incredible community of customers who support us. We continue to adapt our products and way of operating in response to feedback from you. Many of our recipes have been fine-tuned thanks to your vital comments that help us to ensure the flavour is the best it can be.
Our bakery is open plan; when you come in to pick up your pastries and bread, you can see where everything is made, creating an important link on the journey each loaf makes from field to mill to bakery, and finally to be enjoyed by you.
